## Crypto - Fiat Conversion

<figure><img src="https://coinbar.io/static/media/key-value-3.e7463f0654ab8560e3ad.png" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Coinbar Pay's Crypto-Fiat conversion feature offers merchants the flexibility to choose how they would like to receive their earnings from cryptocurrency transactions.&#x20;

Depending on their preferences and risk tolerance, merchants can opt to retain the cryptocurrencies or automatically convert them to fiat currency (euro) at the time of payment execution. This process mitigates the challenges associated with the high volatility of digital currencies.

### Automatic Crypto-Fiat Conversion

Merchants who want to eliminate exposure to crypto market fluctuations can opt for instantaneous conversion to fiat currency (euro) at the time a payment is executed.&#x20;

In this case, Coinbar Pay's system seamlessly converts the cryptocurrency into its equivalent value in euros using the current exchange rates.&#x20;

The fiat currency is then credited to the merchant's account, minimizing the risk associated with the high volatility of digital currencies.

{% hint style="info" %}
The merchant will receive the exact amount of the billing total price, minus the service fees selected during service activation.
{% endhint %}

With Coinbar Pay's Crypto-Fiat Conversion feature, merchants have the opportunity to explore new markets and provide diverse payment options for their customers, all while managing their exposure to the risks associated with the digital currency landscape.

### Retaining Cryptocurrency Income

If a merchant wishes to maintain their earnings in the original cryptocurrency form, Coinbar Pay will process the transaction and store the digital tokens securely into the merchant's wallet.&#x20;

Merchants can access their wallet through the dedicated platform, where they can view their balance, transaction history, and other account details.

{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:blue;">Anti-DDoS</mark>

Coinbar Pay uses sophisticated anti-DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) protection mechanisms to combat potential attacks on its infrastructure. ### <mark style="color:blue;">SSL</mark>

Coinbar Pay employs SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption and HTTPS protocols to ensure the secure transfer of data between the user's browser and the platform's servers. This encryption method guards against data interception and tampering during transmission, maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.

### <mark style="color:blue;">Encrypted Sensitive Data</mark>

All sensitive data on the Coinbar Pay platform is encrypted using state-of-the-art cryptographic algorithms. ### <mark style="color:blue;">Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML)</mark>

Coinbar Pay upholds KYC and AML regulations by conducting thorough identity verification and due diligence processes for all users. These checks ensure that the platform remains compliant with relevant regulations and helps protect the platform from being exploited for illicit activities.

Step-by-step guides, code samples, and best practices are included to assist you in creating a fully customized and secure cryptocurrency payment gateway for your website.

# Service Configuration

When you have activated the CoinbarPay payment service for your account through the CoinbarPay Dashboard, it's essential to configure your shop's parameters to ensure a smooth and secure payment experience for your customers.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
This topic will guide you through configuring your shop's <mark style="color:blue;">`WEB_URL_CALLBACK`</mark> and <mark style="color:blue;">`BE_URL_CALLBACK`</mark>, which are vital links in providing a seamless transaction experience with minimal disruptions.
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:blue;">`WEB_URL_CALLBACK`</mark>

The web\_url\_callback is the URL to which your customers will be redirected after they complete a payment through the CoinbarPay Web Gateway. This callback URL is typically a page on your website that displays a payment confirmation or a summary of the transaction.

To configure your <mark style="color:blue;">`WEB_URL_CALLBACK`</mark>:

1. Log in to your CoinbarPay Dashboard.
2. Navigate to the "Service Configuration" section.
3. Locate the "Web URL Callback" field and enter the desired URL, ensuring it is a valid and accessible link on your website.
4. Save your changes.

CoinbarPay will now automatically redirect your customers to this configured URL once a payment has been completed.

### <mark style="color:blue;">`BE_URL_CALLBACK`</mark>

The <mark style="color:blue;">`BE_URL_CALLBACK`</mark> is a server-side URL that CoinbarPay uses to send payment status updates and notifications securely.&#x20;

{% hint style="warning" %}

#### <mark style="color:orange;">Warning</mark>

This callback ensures your backend systems are informed in real-time about any updates or changes related to a payment transaction.
{% endhint %}

To configure your be\_url\_callback:

1. Log in to your CoinbarPay Dashboard.
2. Navigate to the "Service Configuration" section.
3. Locate the "Backend URL Callback" field and enter the desired URL, ensuring it is a valid endpoint on your server.
4. Save your changes.

Upon successful configuration, CoinbarPay will send secure HTTP requests to this URL whenever there are updates or changes in payment status.

It is essential to properly handle these requests on your server-side and implement necessary actions, such as updating your database records, sending confirmation emails, or generating reports.

{% hint style="warning" %}

#### <mark style="color:orange;">Warning</mark>

Ensure that both the <mark style="color:blue;">`WEB_URL_CALLBACK`</mark>and<mark style="color:blue;">`BE_URL_CALLBACK`</mark> are secure (HTTPS) and valids URLs, owned by You or Your Company, to avoid exposing sensitive customer or transaction data.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

# API Keys Management

To ensure secure communication between your website and CoinbarPay's payment gateway, our system relies on API keys to authenticate and authorize requests. In this section, we will discuss the importance of managing your API keys properly, as well as the steps for generating and using the required keys.

## API KEYS

#### <mark style="color:purple;">SERVICE\_CLIENT\_ID</mark> : Payment Gateway Key

The <mark style="color:purple;">`SERVICE_CLIENT_ID`</mark> serves as the primary identifier for your CoinbarPay Service.

{% hint style="info" %}
This ID is used for identification to requests made between your website and our payment gateway.
{% endhint %}

#### <mark style="color:orange;">SERVICE\_SECRET\_KEY</mark> : Authentication Secret Key

The <mark style="color:orange;">`SERVICE_SECRET_KEY`</mark> serves as HMAC (Hash-based Message Authentication Code) secret key to sign and authenticate requests to CoinbarPay API Server.

{% hint style="warning" %}

#### <mark style="color:orange;">Warning</mark>

This KEY should never been exposed, transfered, sent to anyone outside your company or is not allowed to manage transactions requests.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Security hints</mark>

To maintain the highest level of security and protect your CoinbarPay account from unauthorized access or malicious activities, follow these best practices for API key management:

1. **Secure Storage**: Keep your `KEYS` and other API keys in a secure and encrypted location, such as environment variables or a secure database, to prevent unauthorized access or exposure.
2. **Limit Access**: Grant `KEYS` access only to the required services and personnel who directly manage your integration with CoinbarPay.
   {% endhint %}

# Payment Flow

The CoinbarPay payment flow is designed to deliver a seamless and secure experience for both you as a merchant and your customers. This topic outlines the various steps involved in processing a cryptocurrency payment using CoinbarPay, starting from the initial request token creation until the user is redirected back to your web application.

## 1. Request Token Creation

The payment process begins by creating a request token through the CoinbarPay API. This token will be used to identify the transaction and securely pass essential information between your web application and the CoinbarPay Web Gateway.

To create the request token, make an API call with the necessary transaction details, such as the amount, currency, customer information, and any additional data required for processing the payment.

The API will respond with a unique token that represents the payment request and can be used to initiate the transaction.

{% content-ref url="/pages/GNfOVOqefVhjIhvd1KSM" %}
[Request New Payment (web page)](/api-web-integration/api-documentation/request-new-payment-web-page)
{% endcontent-ref %}

## 2. Opening CoinbarPay Web Gateway

Once you have received the payment request token from the API, you can redirect your customer to the CoinbarPay Web Gateway. To do this, you will need to construct a URL with the following format:

Use the link to go :

{% content-ref url="/pages/bbicsiORB99X5ks192Ak" %}
[Payment Gateway](/api-web-integration/api-documentation/payment-gateway)
{% endcontent-ref %}

<figure><img src="https://3385475742-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FBIXeXFNYclIzjdhHCw61%2Fuploads%2FsOwR9cK0YuBtDgIxShDu%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=a97384c8-dd44-4bde-9a48-9821b49aeb49" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## 3. User Completes Payment

On the CoinbarPay Web Gateway, the user can choose their desired payment method type and select the cryptocurrency they wish to use for the transaction. Once they have provided the necessary payment information and initiated the transaction, CoinbarPay will handle the payment processing in the background.

## 4. Redirect to Merchant's Web Application

After the user has completed their payment, CoinbarPay will automatically redirect the user back to your web application, specifically to the callback URL configured in the CoinbarPay Dashboard. This ensures a smooth return flow for the user, and you can use this opportunity to show a confirmation message or initiate post-payment processing.

{% hint style="warning" %}

#### <mark style="color:orange;">Warning</mark>

CoinbarPay Payment Gateway will send the payment status to your backend callback url configured in CoinbarPay Dashboard ([Service Configuration](/api-web-integration/service-configuration)).
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Info</mark>

By following this payment flow, you can provide your customers with a secure, seamless, and hassle-free cryptocurrency payment experience, while maintaining full control and customization of your payment gateway integration.
{% endhint %}

# Payment Statuses

During the payment process, various statuses indicate the current state of the transaction. It's essential to understand these statuses to effectively manage and monitor payments within your system. This topic explains the five possible payment statuses in the CoinbarPay system.

{% hint style="info" %}
Understanding the importance of these payment statuses allows you to effectively manage your payments requests.
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:blue;">Pending</mark>

The "Pending" status means the payment is waiting to be processed or confirmed by the cryptocurrency network. During this time, your backend system should monitor the payment status for any changes and be prepared to handle the subsequent status once it becomes available. This may involve updating records, sending notifications, or taking further actions depending on the final payment outcome.

### <mark style="color:green;">Success</mark>

The "Success" status means the payment has been successfully completed. \
At this point, the funds have been transferred from the customer's cryptocurrency wallet to your CoinbarPay account. \
Your backend system should process a successful transaction by updating the relevant records, sending a confirmation email, and fulfilling the related service or product.

### <mark style="color:orange;">Failed - Refund</mark>

The "Failed - Refund" status indicates that the payment initially succeeded, but the transaction was later reversed or refunded, returning the funds to the customer's wallet.&#x20;

This typically occurs in cases of chargebacks or disputes. When handling a refund, it's essential to communicate with the customer, investigate the issue, and, if necessary, revoke access to the associated service or product.<br>

The refund automatically occurs when the payments is partial and not fullfill the entire total price requested by the payment request.\
In othe cases it is possible to request the refund directly using the web assistance help chat or using the CoinbarPay Dashboard, in your Payments Page, or contacting our team

### <mark style="color:red;">Failed - Timeout</mark>

The "Failed - Timeout" status signifies that the payment did not complete within the specified time window set by CoinbarPay.&#x20;

This could occur because the customer did not send the transaction within the timeframe or due to issues with the cryptocurrency network processing the transaction.&#x20;

If a payment times out, the customer may need to retry the transaction.

### <mark style="color:purple;">Canceled by User</mark>

The "Canceled by User" status indicates that the customer decided to cancel the payment process before completing it. \
In such cases, no funds are transferred, and the transaction is considered void. <br>

# API Documentation

{% hint style="info" %}
The CoinbarPay API allows you to integrate our powerful and secure cryptocurrency payment gateway into your custom web applications or eCommerce platforms.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

To assist you in effectively using the API, this documentation covers various aspects related to communication, management, and utilization of the provided functions.

The following subpages offer in-depth information and guidance on specific API topics:

1. [<mark style="color:blue;">**Authentication**</mark>](/api-web-integration/api-documentation/authentication): Learn how to securely authenticate your requests to the CoinbarPay API using API keys, specifically the <mark style="color:purple;">`SERVICE_CLIENT_ID`</mark> and `SIGNATURE_TOKEN`. \
   This section explains the process of generating keys, adding them to your request headers, and following best practices for security.
2. [<mark style="color:blue;">**Request Payment**</mark>](/api-web-integration/api-documentation/request-new-payment-web-page): Understand how to initiate a new payment request using the CoinbarPay API, including required parameters, data formats, and request structure. \
   This will enable you to create a seamless and customized payment experience for your customers.

4. [<mark style="color:blue;">**Reports**</mark>](/api-web-integration/api-documentation/reports)<mark style="color:blue;">:</mark> Learn how to access and manage transaction and settlement reports for your CoinbarPay account using the API. \
   This section covers report formats, query parameters, and data manipulation.

# Authentication

When making requests to CoinbarPay's API, include the <mark style="color:purple;">SERVICE\_CLIENT\_ID</mark>  and a SIGNATURE\_TOKEN generated by your <mark style="color:orange;">SERVICE\_SECRET\_KEY</mark> in the header of your HTTP requests to authenticate.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
This ensures that only authorized users can access and interact with your CoinbarPay data.
{% endhint %}

## Signature Token

A signature token is a secure way to hash and authenticate requests using a secret key and the serialized body of a request.&#x20;

By using an HMAC (Hash-based Message Authentication Code), it is possible to create a tamper-proof token that can ensure the API call is made from an authorized source.

Take a look at the following example for Node.js that shows how to create an HMAC signature token:

```javascript
const crypto = require('crypto');
// Example Request for Payment Request creation
const requestBody = {
  //Request JSON Object or serialized query string...
};
const secretKey = 'your_secret_key';
// Function to create HMAC signature token
function createSignatureToken(requestBody, secretKey) {
  const serializedRequestBody = JSON.stringify(requestBody);
  const signatureToken = crypto
    .createHmac('sha256', secretKey)
    .update(serializedRequestBody)
    .digest('hex');
  return signatureToken;
}
//SIGNATURE_TOKEN to use as HTTP Header
const SIGNATURE_TOKEN = createSignatureToken(requestBody, secretKey);
```

{% hint style="warning" %}

#### <mark style="color:orange;">Warning</mark>

When calling the CoinbarPay API, be sure to include the generated SIGNATURE\_TOKEN and <mark style="color:purple;">SERVICE\_CLIENT\_ID</mark> in the request headers, so the system can validate the authenticity and integrity of the request.
{% endhint %}

```javascript
const axios = require("axios");
const SERVICE_CLIENT_ID = "your_SERVICE_AUTH_KEY_here";
const requestBody = {
  //Payment JSON Object...
};
const signature_token = createSignatureToken(requestBody, secretKey);
axios.post("https://{{SANDBOX_ENV.BASE_URL}}/{{SANDBOX_ENV.PATH_PAYMENT_EXAMPLE}}",
  requestBody,
  {
    headers: {
      "CBPAY-API-KEY": `${SERVICE_CLIENT_ID}`
      "SIGNATURE" : `${signature_token}`
  },
})
.then(response => {
  console.log(response.data);
})
.catch(error => {
  console.error(error);
});
```

# Request New Payment (web page)

To initiate a new payment request using the CoinbarPay API, you will need to provide specific parameters and call the appropriate endpoint.&#x20;

Upon successfully processing this request, the CoinbarPay API will return a payment request token that you can use to initiate the payment process through the CoinbarPay Web Gateway, as described in the "Payment Flow" topic.

### Create request token

To make the API request, use the following :

# Payment Gateway

The CoinbarPay Payment Gateway is a secure web interface that allows your customers to select their preferred cryptocurrency and complete the payment process.&#x20;

By following the steps in this topic, you will learn how to open the CoinbarPay Payment Gateway using the appropriate URL and understand what happens once the payment is executed, canceled, or times out.

## Opening the Payment Gateway

To open the CoinbarPay Payment Gateway for a customer, you will need to construct a URL with the following format:

{% code overflow="wrap" %}

```url
https://sandbox.coinbar.io/paymentgateway/pay?requestToken={{REQUEST_TOKEN}}&serviceClientId={{SERVICE_CLIENT_ID}}&timestamp={{current_timestamp}}
```

{% endcode %}

Replace the following placeholders with actual values for your specific transaction:

* `REQUEST_TOKEN` (requestToken): The payment request token received from the CoinbarPay API upon initiating a new payment request.
* <mark style="color:purple;">`SERVICE_CLIENT_ID`</mark> (serviceClientId): Your account's authentication key (Service Client ID).
* timestamp (timestamp): The current timestamp in milliseconds.

{% hint style="info" %}
When directing the customer to this URL, they will be presented with the CoinbarPay Payment Gateway, where they can choose their preferred cryptocurrency to complete the payment.
{% endhint %}

## Post-Payment Actions

Once the payment is either executed, canceled, or times out, CoinbarPay will perform the following actions:

### **(1) Backend Callback**&#x20;

{% hint style="warning" %}

#### <mark style="color:orange;">Warning</mark>

Your backend system should handle this request by updating the relevant database records, triggering necessary actions, and maintaining a log for future reference.
{% endhint %}

The server will send a secure HTTP request to your configured <mark style="color:blue;">`BE_CALLBACK_URL`</mark> to update the payment status on your shop.&#x20;

Here is an example of response sent by Coinbar Payment Gateway to your web shop :

{% hint style="success" %} <mark style="color:green;">**SUCCESS**</mark> Response :
{% endhint %}

```json
{
    "result" : "success",
    "payment_id_coinbar": "id_48483",
# Execute Payment External Platform (server-to-server)
This section of the documentation outlines the necessary steps for server-to-server payment initiation using the CoinbarPay API. It details the process of creating a new payment request and receiving a payment string token for transaction processing.
**Once the payment request is processed, the CoinbarPay API will return a response.** \
**This response includes a payment string token that represents the transaction.**
**The total amount is calculated by input\_coin and the products field, with the current conversion rate for the destination\_coin selected.**&#x20;
### Create new payment
To make the API request, use the following :
## Generate a new payment request token
<mark style="color:green;">`POST`</mark> `https://sandbox.coinbar.io/coinbar/api/v2/pay/gateway/initiate`
# Sandbox Enviroment
The Coinbar Pay Sandbox Environment is a dedicated testing platform that allows developers and merchants to experiment with and test the Coinbar Pay payment features in a secured, isolated space. This environment replicates the production environment, allowing you to perform transactions, accept payments, and use the Coinbar Pay features without affecting real accounts, balances, or financial information.
## Key Benefits
* Safe and controlled testing: Test all Coinbar Pay features without worrying about any financial risks or real-world repercussions.
* Experiment with new integrations: Try out new plugins, APIs, and settings to ensure a smooth deployment in the production environment.
* Familiarize with the Coinbar Pay platform: Explore and understand how the platform, dashboard, and transaction workflows work before implementing them for your clients, stores, or online shops.
## Getting Started
To get started with the Coinbar Pay Sandbox Environment, follow these steps:
* Sign up for a Coinbar Pay Sandbox Account: When registering, make sure to specify that you want access to the sandbox environment. This will grant you access to the testing platform with a unique set of API keys, dashboard, and credentials.
* Configure your testing environment: Replace any production URLs, API keys, and credentials in your project configuration or setup with the Sandbox Environment values. This will isolate any testing from the production environment and prevent any unintended changes.
* Perform test transactions: You can now perform test transactions, simulate payment processing, refunds, and settlements to ensure that your physical stores, eCommerce integrations, and dashboard interactions are working as intended in a controlled environment.
## Tips for Using the Sandbox Environment
* Remember to switch back to the production environment when you're ready to go live. Double-check configurations to ensure correct API keys, URLs, and credentials are used.
* Use test private wallets or coinbar accounts provided by Coinbar for testing transactions in the sandbox environment. Don't use real payment information during testing.
* Keep track of any issues or observations encountered while testing in the sandbox environment and consult the Coinbar Pay Support and Resources for any assistance.
